“We have an elderly female customer who loves coming into our store and has bonded with everyone who works here. Several years ago, she moved from the neighborhood to a retirement community about 25 minutes away. She calls to make sure we have Angels in stock and then drives to pick up 10 at least once every month.We knew she gave these away to people who were having a difficult time in their lives or to people she met who became special to her, but she never shared the stories about the recipients.

Not long ago, a woman came into the store and proceeded to tell us a story. Her mother had met Mrs. Sloan (our customer) the previous year just after she was diagnosed with an incurable illness. Mrs. Sloan had given her a Hope Worry Stone. The woman said her mother kept the stone with her all the time and asked that when she died the stone be placed in the casket with her. The woman told us her mother had recently died and that, although she did not know who the woman was who gave her mother the stone, she knew it came from our store. She wanted us to let Mrs. Sloan know how much the Angel had helped and comforted her mother, and that she had honored her mother's wish.

We never know how much the smallest gesture can mean to someone. Thank God for the Mrs. Sloans in this world.”
